Twilight tour 20 March
Another great twilight tour tonight. It was a very dark and windy night, but that didn’t bother the bettongs who were out in numbers. We saw nine bettongs in total including a few who were happy to go about their nightly routine feeding. We saw one bettong bouncing through the Sanctuary showing us how fast these little guys can move. We also got a great sighting of a swamp wallaby and red-necked wallaby. Several eastern grey kangaroos were seen, a few with very full pouches and little heads sticking out. This was a smart place to be as it was rather chilly night and I wish I had remembered my jumper. We also saw a couple of brushtail possums. But maybe the best thing was that was didn’t see any rabbits. Looks like all the hard work out rangers are doing is starting to pay off. Sorry I didn’t get any photos it was such a busy night.
